The Bird That Spoke Too Loud

Once, on a sturdy tree at the edge of a clearing, lived three friends: a bird, a creeping plant, and a tortoise. The bird loved to sing. From dawn until dusk, the bird made so much noise that the whole tree trembled with sound.

The tortoise grew weary. He moved slowly and valued quiet. He said to the creeping plant, “Will you speak to the bird and ask it to be quieter? Its singing disturbs every creature nearby.”

The leaf did not care. It ignored the tortoise and did nothing. The bird continued to sing loudly, unaware or unconcerned about the tortoise's request.

One morning, a hunter walked into the clearing. The hunter heard the bright, persistent noise and followed it. The bird sang and sang, and the hunter aimed and shot. The bird fell from the branch, injured and unable to fly.

The hunter then cut part of the creeping plant and tied the bird and the tortoise together. Both were captured because of the bird's loud singing. The leaf trembled on the branch, realizing too late that ignoring a problem does not protect anyone from its consequences.

When a problem is ignored or dismissed as not concerning you, it may still affect you in the end. Neglecting small dangers can lead to harm to yourself and others around you. This story teaches that caring, listening, and acting early can prevent shared suffering.
